Hi

I believe to clear a ccj from your credit file you have to send written comfirmation to the registery trust , enclosing £8.00 What I am not sure of is if it is a joint ccj do you have to send £16.00................... ....... or is the £8.00 to clear both names ??

I thought the £8.00 was for a search on the register?

The fee depends on the route you go down, do you have a Certificate of Satisfaction or had your judgement successfully set aside?

Tell us a bit more about the judgement and where you are with it.

Hi

The ccj was settled last year but is still sitting on our credit file not cleared. I have now got a letter stating that the ccj was settled in full , and need to update my credit file. I phoned the regisrty trust and they have informed me as it eas a joint ccj then the fee is £16.00 to enable them to update both records .

From reading the RTL website I do not think this is correct.

If the CCJ is not paid within month of the judgement, then you will not be able to get it removed, only marked as satisfied.

This is lifted from the RTL website.

Fee from 6th April 2006

The fee structure is based on a search against a single name or trading name at an address or against a Limited Company. It allows a discount where a search is required against the same details on more than one section of the Register of Judgments, Orders and Fines (RJOF) for England & Wales, and/or one of the other registers held by Registry Trust.
A search on one RJOF section or any other register is £8.00
Two sections and/or other registers is £16.00

23. How do I get my County Court judgment held on the England and Wales Register marked as satisfied?
From 6th April 2006 when the court are provided with evidence that a judgment debt has been paid in full, that court should notify us to amend the register. When the debt has been repaid outside one calendar month of the judgment date the register will show the entry as "satisfied". You may also apply in writing to the relevant court for a Certificate of Satisfaction enclosing:

a) evidence that the debt has been fully repaid,

b) a statement advising that reasonable steps have been taken to obtain such evidence but you have been unable to do so; or

c) a statement advising that you believe the evidence of payment is already held at the court; and

the court fee of £15 (cheque payable to HMCS)

28. How can I remove my County Court judgment held on the England and Wales Register?
A judgment registration is only removed because it was:

a) entered in error,

b) paid before the court date,

c) cancelled because full repayment was made within one calendar month of the judgment date

If judgment was entered in error, application must be made to the court to have the judgment set aside for which a court fee of £65 is payable (payable to HMCS). If granted the court should notify us to remove the judgment from the register.

From 6th April 2006 when the court are provided with evidence that a judgment debt has been paid in full either before registration or within one calendar month of the judgment date the registration will be cancelled and removed from the register once we have been notified by the court.

You may also apply in writing to the relevant court for a Certificate of Cancellation enclosing:

a) evidence that the debt has been fully repaid with one calendar month of the date of the judgment

b) a statement advising that reasonable steps have been taken to obtain such evidence but you have been unable to do so,

c) a statement advising that you believe the evidence of payment within one calendar month of the date of judgment is already held at the court; and

the court fee of £15 (cheque payable to HMCS)
