Default Asking to cancel charge

Hi All.
I'm new to the forum. I think it's a great idea that a forum like this exists to help us make a stand.

I have recently been charged 28 pounds for going overdrawn on my account due to delayed switch card payments coming out of my account.

The charge has not actually been taken out of the account but they have given me a date on which it will be taken.

I have made a few alterations to the preliminary letter in the case library, asking the bank to cancel the charges. I hope it works

The only thing I am not sure about is whether I have sent it to the correct people or not. I have sent the letter to my RBS local branch. Should I have sent it somewhere else higher up the ladder or will it be okay to leave it for my branch to sort out?

Many thanks for your help in advance.

Your local branch will be fine, they will send it on if need be, if it is only 1 charge you might be lucky and your branch manager might deal with it, if not Im sure they will let you know in due course.
Good Luck,

Hi. Thanks for that reply.

I am also looking to contest several charges over the years by barclay card.
Where would be the best place to write about this? An address on the statement?

I got a letter back from the bank giving me the blurb on how they believe the charges to be fair, just and transparent etc etc.

They did however say that as a gesture of goodwill, they will cancel the charges.

Many thanks for your help on this.

Now to deal with barclaycard.
