total charges

In the middle of filling in the spreadsheet to reclaim charges from HSBC bank. On my statements (which I actually recieved very quickly) I have a number of charges which just appear as 'TOTAL CHARGES TO 08/09/02' (as an example). Can I claim for these or not.... Can someone help me???

Do the TOTAL CHARGES TO (dd/mm/yy) entries alter the balance on your account at that date?

If you add all the itemised charges between any two of those dates, does it tally with the total stated at the second date?

Usually, unlawful charges will be round figures, just £'s with no pence.
If, on the other hand there are odd coppers in the totals, then they are almost certainly legitimate service charges and not reclaimable.

I'm doing a claim for HSBC with 'rounded' TOTAL CHARGES .... Amounts varying from 40-100. I am finding it hard to get a breakdown, does anyone know anymore please?
