Default Not banks but BSM Driving t&cs

I understand if this post is deleted but ... i need some help from some experts!

My ex-girlfriend bought me a driving lesson voucher from BSM for xmas last year ( not the xmas just gone, the one before ) and it has on the back they last 12months. It's out of date.

They won't help but I have an address and the voucher's redem by date wasn't filled in - possible clause?

important terms are:
4. Vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of issue.

that's the only reverlent one.
She didn't sign anything but the terms are on the back of the voucher.

Also above it it says
manager signature ----- it wasn't signed
redemption date -------- not filled in

Can you help?

Er, perhaps I'm missing something, but if the redemption date isn't filled in, surely they don't know it's out of date unless you tell them?

Redemption date would be the date you'd gone in to get it.. well, redeemed, it would then have got signed by the manager.

What I'm trying to say is that those empty cases have nothing to do with you, but with the admin side of the company, so that they in turn can get reimbursed by the head office . What counts is the voucher date, and since it's out of date, the agency is not going to accept it, as they then would not get paid for it (which is fairly logical).

Your only chance is to write to the head office, and hope for a goodwill gesture because let's face it, the terms are as clear as can get. I suggest you have a really good sob story for not finding the time in 15 months to go book your driving lesson.

It might be worth asking under what circumstances they think they are entitled to keep your money and not provide the service you (or whoever) have paid for. Be persistent, they don't like awkward questions!

It might be worth "blagging" them into thinking you have spoken to Trading Standards and telling them that TS think you have a case. Failing that, speak to Trading Standards anyway, a quick call from them has got me refunds in the past where the company concerned has previously turned me down.

Tried trading standards... no rights.

Appealed to heart of a manager in a call centre asking for him to help me out didn't bother wasting time with the call centre staff lol

Rearranged for full lessons! Success.

Thanks
