Someone I know works at nationwide and aparently they are setting up a special department to deal with theese claims

Not a moment too soon - I hope that this department will be better versed in what is lawful and what is not, and that they will at least treat ALL claims seriously, if not necessarily to your satisfaction...

If we knew the name of the department, I suppose we could always specifically request that we NOT be escalated to the department. What a waste of time and money that would be for them...they really have my sympathy...NOT!

I thought they were being quite efficient - I sent my Data Protection Act request to my branch but got a reply within a few days from the Data Protection Team at Nationwide in Northampton, ..it was quite a helpful reply too - let's see if they come good in the end though...
