Default ***Charges received back - SURVEY***

I've been asked quite a few times how much money in total have been clawed back from the banks, well, I have knocked-up a little survey to find out:

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/survey.php

It's not finished yet, but I am struggling to find the time to finish it.

It's a bit buggy, so be patient with it (send me bugs if you find them (don't look for them!!!) at dave@bankactiongroup.co.u k - and I'll fix them when I can).

PS. If there's any PHP programmers out there that want to lend a hand, I probably wouldn't turn you away

PPS. There was one, but I forogt the username, please PM me if the offer of help still stands.

Dave - I know it's more work, but have you considered a survey to gauge the momentum of the campaign.

Basically, when approaching the bank for Data Protection Act details, did they counter with "are you going to ask for a refund," or "are you from that internet site?" type of thing.

I notice from posts that this is becoming more frequent...

Remember that this campaign has been running at a very low level until now. When I joined the site 5-6 weeks ago it only had about 250 members. It's grown exponentially since but it's only now that my claims have to the point of issuing court claims. The banks will not, for the most part, refund these charges until they have no other choice than to pay up or go to court.

Give this another month and I suspect that you will find all the banks represented on that list and the amount of refunds will be much higher.

Love this survey, Dave.

I was wondering about the 'stage at which refund received' bit: should there maybe be an option for 'phone call'? I've seen instances on this site where it's suggested as the first move before starting on the letters.

I actually got £100 back from Capital One a year ago, by complaining on the phone - obviously, before I found out I could get back a lot more.

Also, and this is bordering on nitpicking, I know: how about an additional 'percentage of requested refund' or something? Or does everyone get it all?

Dave, is there any way to get this survey to have a total? Every time I print an updated sheet for work's kitchen noticeboard I have to manually add it up. Such an effort!!! Lol. But I'd hate one day to get it wrong - it's in the kitchen of a firm of accountants!

Most people are not using it sadly, so it's not really a true reflection of the amount people are getting back.

However, I will add a total, but in the meantime you could cut and paste it into Excel and do a SUM.

That's a shame. I use it to try to get folks interested.

I'll do the excel thing, but I do like the info down the sides. I'll have a play tomorrow. Cheers.

Just had a look - Halifax seem to be the best - thats good for me.
But Lloyds - what a shocker.
I think the more people do this, the Banks will have to finally give in or change their charges (not likely) or go to court!!!

But keep the good work up.

The survey is hard to find. Maybe you could make it a sticky and place it right under FAQ's and highlight it just like the FAQ section is highlighted?

I think that may generate more "usage" ??

There is a link at the top of ALL forum pages that says:

Maybe, I should make it bigger?
