Default Need a solution for my car at the parking lot!

Hi everyone, most of us have the habit of forgetting something particular all the time. I always end up forgetting my car at the parking lot. I am somewhat not comfortable in saying this, but yes, there have been many instances like this with me and I can’t help myself out. I do remember to carry my iPhone with me but am helpless on the issue of my car. There might be someone like me who can answer my problems as to what do they do or would hope some good suggestions from you people so that I can be comfortable when finding my car in the lot.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Effiejosef,

Welcome to the Consumer Action Group.

You might try a distinctive roof rack or box. My son had the same problem and this worked for him.

I'll move your thread to a more appropriate forum were someone else may have a better idea.

Hope this helps,

Lex

Spray it bright pink? Roof rack is a good idea. I know someone who ties some cloth to the arial (a bugger if it gets blown off though). Helium balloon sticking out the window?

roof rack or box is no good if going under a barrier ir in a multistory as there will not be enough height.

I have relised this to my cost and had a roof box riped off

My old sales manager was in the USA a few years back and had travelled to several cities, hiring a different car in each. At the end of the week before flying home he went to one of those huge shopping malls, parked up and went to do some shopping, eat and spend a few hours relaxing before the trip back home. Unfortunately when he came to look for his car he had both forgotton where he parked it and its make, colour etc (no details on the key ring). After a few hours looking he gave up, took a taxi to the airport and reported to stolen to the car rental company!

He had to pay the first $100 and never heard another thing!

Buy a small tube of helium gas and a pack of balloons, when you park up inflate one and tie it to your car aerail or roof rack.

When you come back to the car park look for the balloon.

Mossy

Just realised Gyzmo suggested this earlier. OK buy a loaf of bread and when you leave your car lay a trail of breadcrumbs when you come back to the car park look for the trail and follow it

Employ a bugler to sit in the rear of the car whenever you go on a journey and tell him to constantly play your favourite tune once you have left the car to go about your business.

You will instantly recognise your beloved tune and then simply follow it until you relalise it is actually coming from your car.

Using your mobile phone take a picture of the car you park next to. When you have finished shopping wander round the car park looking at your picture until you find the car in it. Yours will be next to it.

Unless

a) Your car has been stolen

b) The owner of the other car has finished shopping and has driven off.

Otherwise, there is no reason why that wouldn't work

Wht not just park across two bays. Then, when returning from doing your shopping, simply look for the car with a clamp on it and that will be yours.

Just before I got married, I went to Gloucester to bring the wife to be to Portsmouth where we were being wed.

I had a hire car and I parked it behind Gloucester Cathedral near Sainsburys. We get back 2 hours later and can't find the car. Thinking it had been stolen, I speak to the car park attendant.

Oh, you mean the mondeo that rolled back down the car park? I'd forgotton to put the hand brake on. It was only stopped when the wing mirror got caught on one of those shopping trolley corrals.

Doh..........

OK the definitive solution.

Carry a piece of chalk (or a spray can) and when you get out of your car walk in a straight line towards the nearest wall counting your steps.

When you reach the wall write the number of steps it took on the wall and then go shopping. When you have finished your shopping come back to the wall and find your writing, now take that number of steps back and hey presto your car will be there!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why not pimp your car in such a way that it really stands out from the crowd. To find it simply follow the admiring gazes of all passers by.
Something like this springs to mind:

On a more serious note, 5 seconds of googling yields this:

One solution offered by Chevrolet is to have your car shout at you so you know where to find it.
