Default Cancelling Air France flights, tax entitlement?

I booked flights from Newcastle to CDG and back for me and my girlfriend, but now we have broke up, the flights are in 19 days and I would like to cancel. I am aware of Air Frances no refund policy but the taxes are more than the flight costs themselves. will i be entitled to claim a refund of these taxes, since i cannot get a refund on the fares themselves? If so, how do i go about this? Thanks in advance, Pete.

Have you thought about selling the tickets, to recoup some of the losses, even asking your ex whether she would buy urs to take someone with her, or could you not continue with your plans and take a friend with you........ Why cancel now when you have been looking forward to the holiday, it might even help you with the breakup.......Changing names on the ticket would cost less than losing all the money wouldnt it...

If they are economy fares, they are usually the cheapest seat price possible and therefore non transferrable and non everything else.

You have an entitlement to reclaim the pax duty because no air travel has taken place - but not until after the date of the flight because airlines pay the duty on flight manifests and not on reservations.

You will have a struggle getting it, and given current Y fares between NCL/CDG is it worth the bother?
