See what your contract says. I expect it says you must give a month's notice in writing, so just do that.

Why phone. Write, and by Recorded Delivery - as they cannot dispute it later!

i moved house one month ago they faild to provide me service at new adress because of fault with either their system or bt line, can i also ask for refund for that month? i have 12month contract with them but im fed up, is this is good reason to cancel my contract? as its states in T&C that they will terminate my contract if they fail to provide me service but it doesnt say how long should i wait!

You cannot be billed for a service that is not provided - you will find that a subsequent bill may well show a credit of the billed amount until service is finally provided. The time limit is always going to be a 'reasonable' one, at their discretion but they do not - as a rule, pursue people for accounts if there is no service in place. If there are problems in your area, it will probably take a reqire of the underground plant before things get better, so if there is an alternative cable supplier, you might be better trying them.

A useful site is saynoto0870.co.uk you can search for alternative numbers to the national rate rip offs. A letter, as mentioned is far better, but eep the site in mind for other things too.

As mentioned earlier, it doesn;t really matter what telephone number is used to cancel a service, it boils down to their word against yours if the service doesn;t end when it was supposed to. Writing, and by Recorded Delivery for extra assurance cannot be faulted.
