Please help – problem with ebay and paypal

Hello. I’ve sold the car on ebay. The buyer paid by paypal and picked it up next day. A few days later he said that his account has been “hacked” and paypal refunded him the money. A week later he sold my car on ebay under the same ebay name!


I have sent loads of emails to paypal and ebay but they do not care! All they do is apologising. Can someone advice on what rights do I have? It’s obvious that I’ve been robed but no one cares. Please help.

Oh dear, you really should not use Paypal for this kind of transaction - if somebody asks for their money back, Paypal have to take their side as you cannot prove delivery.

The only option I can think of is to get the police involved. And if you sell anything else on ebay don't use Paypal unless you are sending the items out using a tracked service where you can prove delivery.

yeah just call police, theres now a national section do deal with this i read somewhere

Get the police in and nail the B*stard to the wall! Paypal are pretty soft when it comes to this sort of thing.
