Tell them a 'phone number by all means. Then never answer it. Pick up and delete your voice mails on a regular basis. They don't need to remind you to pay - you, as a respectable person, KNOW when to pay. Also, I would get that particular statement in writing - it would prove very useful in any court case you brought against them!
Or of course you could tell them that you don't have a telephone.
Or of course you could go to a different company who do Student Loans.
Or you could get Skype, give them your SkypeIn number, and direct all unanswered calls to your Skype Voicemail.
