| | Platinum Account Customer | Re: NTL Late Payment Charge She's right. The computer puts it on automatically. What she should have told you is NTL's retentions department takes it off and refunds the difference, as it does for many 100s of us on here!

| | Basic Account Customer | Re: NTL Late Payment Charge Am I correct in thinking that I can reclaim my NTL late payments/disconnection fees back? I have had murders with them on the phone, earlier today because they have started charging me 10 pounds late payment fee, even when I have explained to them that I will be paying on such and such a date, and a note has been left on my file, saying that I will be settling then, and I always have settled on that date. I pay by debit card, because of DD being a problem when they dont go out on the dates that they should, and I end up being charged by the bank aswell. Also would I be able to claim back my re connection charges, that are levied on my account when my services have been suspended. Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated
Also, whilst I was on the phone today with NTL, I overheard a conversation in the callcentre backround, whilst my call was being dealt with by a seemingly nice gentleman, his colleague was dealing with another call, after the conversation had finished with his client, I distinctly heard him call his client a "Knobhead".... makes me wonder what choice names I was called after I finished my conversation?? fanf*#~*ingtastic customer service NTL... Well Done!!!! |

| | Platinum Account Customer | Re: NTL Late Payment Charge Don't see why not - however as these will be automatically applied, it's often easier to ensure you make the payment's on the correct dates in future, as you'll simply be on a treadmill of arguments and recriminations!
You can challenge the reconnection fees (they don't charge for cutting you off) and also quey why they are charging you for service when you're not receiving it. Sure, it's in the contract but is it fair? You could get a court to decide, but they usually settle before then. They have admitted that the reconnection fee is a 'fine' but as this is illegal in itself and does not reflect the true cost of putting you back on this can be challenged too. The easiest route is to call CS and say you're leaving. You'll be transferred to 'Retentions' and they can make the arrangement to credit and keep you happy.
