Default Sky and wescot cedit services advice

In june decided to alter our package from the Sky world with Hd subscription at £55 a month, so I rang the Sky subscriber line follwed the options and waited 40 minutes before been cut off. A little annoyed I rang back this time following the options to cancel my subscription, after a further 20 minutes gave up. I then canceled my direct debit.

A few days later, recieved a letter from sky saying I was still a subscriber but would now have to an additional £4 admin charge. Therefore I telephoned the subsriber line and managed to get through, only to be talked into staying with sky and reducing my package, this was my original intention so I agreed to this, I gave details to set up another direct debit.

A week later my service was cut off, and a week later got a bill for £12.50 for money I owed them, this included a £4 admin fee, that I will not pay.

Today I recieved a threatening letter of a debt recovery agent called Wescot credit services.

Can anyone advise what I can do, as a point of principal I will not pay the £4
admin fee, but obviously worried about this letter.

How far can they take this and can I pay them £8.50 .

I am disgusted with sky, been a customer for 12 years and usually on the Sky world package

basically because you did cancel the dd then you should pay the £4 charge as a bill was sent before you re set up the dd but if your viewing is still suspended are you are wnating to view again go to the sky website and click on sky help centre and then contact us and ask then inform them what you have said there and ask them to waive the £4 charge and you will pay the remainder to resubscribe and see what they come back with

Isn't the £4 an invoice charge though? And don't sky send statements?

Yes it's an invoice charge but since december that have changed a few things and no longer send monthly statments to customers unless requested by the customer but normally for a one off admin charge they would waiver it quite easily

Hi Ida

Guess you work for Sky, what has shocked me is that a debt of £8.50 or £12.50 has been passed to a DCA.

I had intended to return to sky after our hols, however because of this strongarm, sledgehammer approach to crack a nut tattic, I will not.

I will pay £12.50 to wescot, I cannot be bothered arguing with people like this. However after 12 years with sky, I am moving to BT vision, everything we want at a quarter of the price ,including sentana sports.

kind regards
