Is this unfair trading?

I took out a couple of large loans that I couldnt afford after being conned....have learned my lesson there! But at no point did anyone ask to see proof of income...is this acceptable practice? I have been ignoring them for a while now, but really need to get them sorted - just dont want to make contact and start them hounding me again.

The loans were RBS...one of which was for £27K!
And I was conned by a bloke who was at at the time my partner - dont want to go into details as I was just naieve and stupid at the time, but I have found out that he had done it before, and has done it again since...

I think what was meant was did someone in the course of a business who was supplying the loan lie to you or omit details or act in some unfair way? If you are getting at that he (your ex) tricked you in some way then your claim would be against him.
