DCA's and Experian

Can anyone tell me the best way to get Experian to remove a default from my credit file. The debt is over 6 years old and is now with a DCA. I have asked them to remove it but they say they have to contact the DCA for their permission. I could send the DCA a CCA request knowing that they cannot provide a signed copy of a credit agreement but I was hoping that it wouldn't come to that.

It is my personal information and I have not give permission for anyone to process it or pass it on to any third party. Can anyone help?
