Default Cancellation Charge

I recently signed up for a course of Laser treatment and paid upfront for the full course.

I decided to cancel and gave 24hrs notice. After several attempts to get in touch with the company I eventually got a refund but less a cancellation charge

I understand companies reasons for these charges but in this circumstance I was not advised of these charges at any time.

Surely if patients are not made aware of these terms they cannot impose them?

Any help where I stand with this would be appriciated. At the moment the company will not budge and refund me. Do I have any rights?

It will depend on what is said in the contract. You will have signed something. It may be challengeable as an unfair term, but it will depend on the circumstances and the contract itself. Can you post it? If not, try the CAB or free legal advice

I have no copy of any contract. Yes I did sign 'something' but as far as I was aware this was about my understanding of the forthcoming treatment.

I am fully aware now that there was probably something tucked away in there but if so it was not mentioned.

I have posted a letter to the CAB today!
