Egg Credit Cards

I would be interested to know if anyone has had problems with their Egg credit card. I received an invitation on the anniversary of I being an Egg Card holder to take advantage of their 0% interest free balance transfer. I did this but the problem I find with Egg is all the notifications are via their email system. I had NO notification snail mail or otherwise that the interest free period was about to expire. Therefore charges where just added to the account. I had been paying £1,000 a month prior to this.

Can I use the same process re bank charges to get the interest charges removed?

I have been offered about a third so far over the phone and would like to take it further.

Any advice welcome.

First of all welcome to the forums.
You certainly can claim back these charges and you are sure to get all the info here to do just that.
There are guidelines and a process of steps that you need to follow if you want to be successful.
The first step is to familiarise yourself with exactly what you need to do.
The fact that you have been in telephone discussions with them and they have already offered you some back makes no difference.
I will start you off then you should proceed using the faqs on this site,and having a browse through other claims in the sections similar to your own.
If you dont know the total amount you will be claiming then you will need to get this information by asking them for it under the data protection act.
A good idea is to start your own thread and post all your progress there.
If you get stuck along the way theres help here from others but remember at the end of the day it is your claim your money and you will be expected to do the work to recover it using tools and advice from here.

Thanks for the advice. I thought that prior to following the outlined procedure I would give egg another chance to refund the charges over the telephone. I obviously quoted the advice I had been given and said that I am more than happy to pursue this the formal way. However it would save everyone a lot of time and money if they reconsidered the decision and refunded the charges.

I am pleased to say they did refund the charges.
