Default Boiler And Heating Installation

Dear Moderator

I am new here and i hope i have got my problem quoted in the right section of this forum, and i hope with the wealth of knowledgeable members here on this forum maybe able to answer the following for me please.

My problem is that about 12 years ago i had full boiler and heating installation down by Servowarm (Who of course now are part of Npower ), Servowarm corgi registered engineer who down the job left a piece of curcial pipe which drains the overflow from pressure wessel to outside the property.

I was not fimiliar with the heating system installation then, but since the day one i have also had there full system insurance (similar to British Gas plan 3 for breakdown) but recently there was a problem with the pressure wessel and this resulted in water drain inside my home.

I approached the firm which handles the breakdown (Homeserve) and 2-3 engineers came but they did fix the problem because of the original installation where the drain pipe was left out.

I had commucated with Homeserve and they said to approach Servowarm for this matter, i did that through email expalining my problem and just couple of days after chasing them they responded to say and i quote from there email message as follows.

-------------------------------------------------------------
Quote:

As requested from our telephone conversation, i am compiling all the
information i have on your situation into this e-mail so that you have a
record of our conversations.

After you you called into my department at 13:27 on 19/11/2007i took all the
information you had given me and spoke to my team manager who directed me to
the homserve department where i spoke to a lady named Gail. I gave her your
details and explained your situation and she relayed the notes she had on
her system for you.

Within this conversation she informed me that any works done before 2003 by
servowarm could not be taken responsibility for by their company, as the
pre-2003 company named servowarm no longer existed as a company.

I am aware that you still have a insurance policy with homeserve but they
cannot take responsibility for this issue and therefore cannot take this any
further.

As far as myself and other collegues are aware we cannot take this matter
any further and suggest you have the work done by an independant person.

I can thoroughly understand your frustration with this matter and have
provided an address to write to if you feel complaint is necessary.

Im sorry that i am unable to help any further with this matter and hope that
it is resolved in the near future.

Thank you

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Can someone please expalin to me if i am still entitled to have this problem fixed by Servowarm after all these years.

Your comments would be appreciated.

PS: I do apologise for such long post.

Thank you

Ash
