Default Faulty Caravan

Hi

Newbie here, but in trouble

I bought a new caravan in Nov 06, within a month major floor fault found, returned to another dealers for repair, who state floor not repairable

original Delaer wants van back again or back to the factory to allow them an attempt to repair

i am at the end of mty tether with this problem

Can i demand a replacement without allowing them another chance to repair

hi i dont know if it will be of any help to you but we are in a caravan union(naco) we have not had to use it for anything but sounds like you could do with a bit of extra help

I think you will need to let the original dealer attempt to repair it before you can take further action. If it is a Swift or Bailey caravan their representatives are on both forums and will be able to answer questions.

Yup - the original dealer is your only point of contact under SOGA. However the flloor is a fickle thing, and whilst you don't say what the problem is if it is uneven or 'soft' this can be caused by water spillage, and many view this as abuse. If it isn't, then the original dealer needs to affect a repair to your satisfaction, which they may refer to the manufacturers, but this is their call - not yours!

If you google for "uk campsite2 or "caravan talk" forums, they are both caravan forums with NO commercial links whatsoever. They are similar to this site with lots of helpful people who can offer advice. Hopefully the mods will let this post through.
