Trader will have to repair at his cost or you could reject it as not fit for purpose under SOGA.

although it wasnt a garage.he sold from home but advertised as trade and has his own business cards etc so it would be the same thing i suppose.I have the receipt of purchase.if he refuses to pay up would it cost much to take him to court or would the small claims court cover it?I was going to give him the opportunity to pay or refund and if he doesnt as i need the car i was going to sort it out and take legal action against him.would this be a wise choice?
