Counterclaim

Hi All,
I wonder if any one out there can advise me, I counterclaimed against a garage repair bill and won judgement and costs of £1900.

However the garage has now got a solicitor and a barrister appealing against that judgement, they want the case dismissed for both parties as they claim I am trying to make a profit off this repair. All I am attempting is to recalim costs off further repairs caused by this garages cosmetic repair to my engine which led to further damage two weeks later.

I haven't claimed for the time or expense of visiting technicians for advice,
citziens advice bureau, seeing Standard Trading Officer, researching technical manuals, cconsulting Independent Engineers, trips back and forth to the County Court Offices.

Is there any avenue I should use in the appeal hearing

Before giving any useful advice we need to know more.

You say counterclaimed, was it you that issued that claim form or the garage?

Did the matter proceed to full hearing or was it default judgement?

If full judgement what are the grounds for appealing, these are usually limited to usually points of law, i.e. no new facts / evidence?

The original claim was issued by the garage
Full hearing and judgement given to me the defendant.
Appeal allowed as the Judge's transcript of hearing could not be found, barrister given permission to appeal on grounds that defendant should not "profit from his loss"
