I had a new drive shaft put on the above car in January 07. In July I went out and the drive shaft snapped and shattered the gear box, hence having to get a recovery wagon to take me home. The garage that fitted it said it was a faulty drive shaft, they have been on to the dealers LVW Components who supplied it but they said I had to send it back to them who would then send it on to the manfuacturers as they where the ones at fault. The cost to have this repaired was £700 approx. It is getting on for three weeks know and the garage is ringing LVW every day but they have had no word from the manufacturers. The garage has now said to LVW that we need a reply back so that if this is going to go belly up then I can start court proceedings. I have had to pay the cost to get the car back on the road. I have kept a record on a daily basis of correspondence and photos of the bent drive shaft, the garage are also going to make statements and photos and are on my side. Can you help advise.

Although the repairing garage are being helpfull here, ultimately it is their responsibility. They should have done the repair at their cost and they should be the ones making a claim against the manufacturer, not you.

You need to be firm and be prepared to loose a friend, but you should write to them and give them 28 days in which to refund the cost of the second repair.
