| | Platinum Account Customer | Car didn't get done, but we did!!! My fella took the car to the local garage for a service & MOT, but when we got it back, it was worse than when it went in. A week later he took it back to the garage, they had it for nearly a week, & it seems as though they haven't done anything to it, but it still cost £550 for a new clutch. In the end he had to go under the bonnet & cleaned the air intake valve & put new spark plugs in, & it's much better than before, & that cost just £25. It also came back with odd front tyres (when it went in they were identical).

| | Platinum Account Customer | Re: Car didn't get done, but we did!!! We found - or should I say, my step sons friend has a friend who is a mechanic, so my OH went to the garage where he works, told him what happened, he had a good look about the car & said that he would do everything that had to be (re)done, & all the other stuff that was urgent for a fraction of the cost that the other garage would have charged. The car is now safe to drive, the brakes were down to the metal, & had definitely had not been touched for the MOT.
We haven't been to trading standards, but we are spreading the word to all our friends, by advising them not to go to the place we used to go to. We will be most definitely be going back to this lad, he has been a godsend. |
