| | Basic Account Customer | please help, about to get the sack?? where do i start...
i work in a housing unit for people with learning disabilitys, i have been there for just over a year and i am really unhappy there. I feel picked on by the team leader who seemed to take an instant dislike to me which has got progressively worse over the past 6 months or so. i have been offered another job, handed in my notice and then two days later...
I have been accused of leaving a resident in the bath (who has epilepsy) on her own whilst going through to the adjoined house next door to use the computer. i have to admit i have at times gone through to use the computer which we aren`t meant to really do but i am not the only staff member by far. i have admitted to using the computer for my own personal use at times to check e-mails(at times when i have not had a service user with me, i have never put anyone at risk to do this!). i have definitely not ever left any resident in the bath to go use the computer. The accusation is obviously serious even though i haven`t done it.
now i`m just very confused, they have held a fact finding meeting with me and are now investigating it. do they need proof to sack me for it other than someone saying it, i have nothing to prove i didn`t but they can`t have any proof i did because i did not.
i think they are trying to sack me, does anyone know if they can do this? i have still been working since the accusation, although the team leader has been up in her office on each of my shifts. She has not been on the floor with me though and has allowed me to take residents out on my own. They say this is very serious yet i am allowed to take residents out of the home on my own? i just don`t understand how this can be? sorry to waffle but i`m very upset, can they sack me for this even though i have not done it???
Thanks for any advice anyone can offer! |

You will have only given one week or at most two weeks notice so I can't see the problem. |
