Default won tribunal, now employer hasnt paid up!
hi there, right i won my tribunal and my former employer has to pay me only £2,119. He had till 10/7/08 to pay up and hasnt now this has collected intrest and im not sure how to go about getting the money, iv herd that some employers actually get away with paying up! is this true?

If the employer doesn't pay you then have to go to the County Court to get a judgement against them. The fact that you have a tribunal award which has not been settled I think means you can go for a judgement straight away, but you will then have to get bailiffs to chase the money if the employer still does not pay you.

Afraid so yes, but if they manage to collect I think they add their fees on - or do they score from both parties? - not sure. Has the employer got plenty of money? I know of people who have deliberately busted their companies rather than pay a tribunal award, but then I am talking about far larger amounts than yours.

CC will take too long

Suggest sending a Statutory Demand after which they will have a maximum 21 days to settle the debt cos they will know you could be petitioning for their bankruptcy after 18 days
