New job redundancy!!

Firstly, hello to everyone...this is my first post!

I recently accepted a new job due to start next monday. I resigned from a 5 year job and this is my last week. Yesterday I received an email from my new employer saying that I was being made redundant due to project delay and downturn in work. I've been offered 3 weeks pay. Do I have any rights at all?

I would ask your current employer if you can retract your notice PDQ.

Not sure that you can be made redundant before starting work....

Agree with poppy, but either way you have no employment security in your first year and I suspect the 3 weeks pay is probably more than you are legally entitled to.

Attempt to retract your notice ASAP.
