Default Employment Law help

Hi!

Hoping for some advice.

I recently completed my 6 months probationary service with my new employers, and I received written confirmation in January confirming I am now on a permanent contract. I also got a £2,100 pay rise from 1 January 2008.

To cut a long story short, I was approached by my old firm to go back, accepted, and tendered my resignation this week.

My pay rise has not been entered onto the payroll system and there is a feeling that this will now not be honoured, despite me being told it would be backdated to January 1 when I received confirmation in late January.

Do I have any legal rights?

Hi

Yeah I got a letter to confirm my salary was being increased and that it would be from a set date. I received the letter around 15 Jan and to date my employee profile hasn't been updated nor has my salary been increased on the HR system.

The cut off for this to be processed is 14 Feb.

My regional manager did intimate that I would only get the pay rise if I stayed. Surely thats not allowed!

Hi there, if there were no written conditions attached to getting the pay rise, then you should be paid it. It obviously missed the cut off date in January to be paid in that salary, but it should be paid to you, including the arrears, in February.
