Thanks for all your help i've been through the site in great detail and am ready to go ahead. I've wriiten all the Data Protection Act letters Egg being just one of them and will post them tomorrow. I have enclosed with the Egg letter a utility bill for further identification as suggested by other members.
I will post back as this progresses.

I will stick at it, i have always been the same when it comes to faulty goods/money back etc drives my wife mad.
As a matter of interest i've had a look but can't see. Has anyone been refunded by egg yet?

Well EGG got my Data Protection Act request today according to track and trace.
40 days and counting
