original Data Protection Act sent to Egg through their secure mail system. they repsonded the next day by email and I had a form through the post the following day asking for further ID and the £10 fee. My original email had authorised them to take the money from my account, but I figured I'd send a cheque along with another letter stating my original request and that the clock was ticking...

Bewildering... If they think that you need to prove your id when you've emailed them through their secure messaging system, they obviously can't think that it's particularly secure !

had letter straight back from egg saying they were processing my request..no idea on charges as have only got last 12 months statements online. will let you know what they come back with...
