Hello,

I mailed my claim to egg yesterday to them the prelim letter and they gave this response today, COULD ANYONE TELL ME IS THIS A STANDARD RESPONSE ive looked at a few threads but cant find to much, also is it advisable to be doing the claim via secure messaging or should i use the post, cheers


EGGS RESPONSE


Dear Dean

We have noted the announcement made by the Office of Fair Trading on 05 April 2006 regarding credit card default charges.

We are pleased that the OFT has recognised that Egg has practices in place to make it as easy as possible for customers to pay their monthly credit card bill, which includes the requirement to set up a Direct Debit prior to receiving an Egg Card or Egg Money card.

We have worked closely with the OFT throughout this inquiry and now intend to study closely the key principles set out in their statement.

Due to this we've reduced the overlimit charge to ?16.00, however we're unable to refund any charges previously applied to your account as stated in your terms and conditions when you applied for your Egg Card.

Further to my last post. I would suggest that you send by recorded delivery. Then you will have evidence to show the court if neccessry, as well as Egg not being able to deny receiving correspondence
