Hi everyone I have contacted egg for a copy of my and my wifes CCA and this is what they have said.

In relation to your credit agreement, as Egg is an internet based credit card this information can viewed online. I'll be unable to arrange for a copy to be sent to you. Simply select 'Small Print', under the Egg Card option on our website.

can anyone offer any advice please?

thanks

Thats Outrageous Bob & Wendy

I have NEVER heard of anyone being able to read their CCA on line, as surely that would be a breach of the Data protection Act. I would also report them to the Information Commisioners Office.

Under the terms of the CCA1974 if you request a copy of your agreement and send the cost of £1 they must by law send you a TRUE COPY of your agreement. I would take this as far as possible if I were you. Just because they are now an American co does not mean they can ignore the laws of the country they operate in.

I am one of the 160,000 who have recieved this appalling letter terminating my Egg account, and from now on they will only receive the minimum payment until the account is paid off. I shall be investigating what I can do about this letter including requesting my CCA. If they refuse to send it I shall refuse to pay as per others on CAG. That will then be a legal dispute and they can whistle for their money.

As said before I can see EGG finishing up with their name plastered all over their faces.

Good luck anyway.

Bob,

I cannot recall reading any postings where defective Egg CCA resulted in a legally unenforceable debt.

Search, Advanced Search, keyword CCA searching thread title only, limiting to Other Institutions -> Egg Forum, produced the following 5 threads which you might like to read through for background. There would be about 60 threads if you searched for CCA within threads contents.

The storm Egg unleashed by closing 161,000 accounts has led to an explosion of postings, but alas in many different website forums as listed in a previous post here, and even within CAG informative postings on this subject are spread beyond this Egg Forum unbeknown to readers, unless they do Advanced Search by keywords.

This leads to duplication of effort and research. If the victims value co-operation and pooling of info or joint action sharing costs, perhaps they need a central point of contact to cross-inform and co-ordinate activities now mushrooming in many different websites with the same independence and speed as fungi after rain.

I am not that co-ordinating person as my Egg Card was closed ages ago. Might be something to consider for the 161,000 -- many of them high achieving good customers summarily thrown out.

Hi,
My brother got this yesterday. He paid on time, had no charges on the account ever and paid most of it off a while ago.
This is nothing more than a great big money making exercise.

yes the CCA is online along with the terms but it is under your account details so I cant see how that is breaking the CCA?

Can I just say that when I go to the egg site and request to see my credit agreement, this is what there site is showing me

You have no online agreements available for viewing. If you have a query about an agreement, please refer to the documents we sent out for you to sign.

Should I CCA them under section 77/78? as according to there site I dont have a agreement with them...So what am I paying.

Does anyone else get this message from there site?

If I S.A.R.s them will this also include the credit agreement

I get same message so am going to CCA them and make min payment for time being. Failure to produce CCA will result in no more payments to them. I have paid by DD for past year and have been hit with around £300 of charges over last three/four years. Now its payback time!!

Just to let you know I cannot find ANY agreement on my account. I have personal details, security details etc. No mention of the agreement anywhere. I have not had a letter saying they will dump me yet. But am still curious about all of this.

Well done Mrs P.

To clarify, you have claimed back PPI and Egg have now refunded all you claimed? And the main arguments supporting your reclaim?

Hi!

Just adding my voice to the thread really. I successfully recaimed my PPI as I was, and always have been, self-employed and therefore not eligible for this cover!
Do you think it is worth chasing a CCA request?

Well done Mrs P. Yours would be only the fourth reported case of successful Egg PPI reclaim, you join the V-E Day Parade again as the distinguished winner number 84, and the beacon you lit will give others encouragement from all points of the compass.

As for CCA request, did you ever request S.A.R - (Subject Access Request), and was the copy agreement among the 1-inch-high pile of papers delivered to you? If not, it can do no harm to request same for £1. Debt collectors show no mercy, but they stand to learn that the sword of the law cuts both ways.

Hi further to my letter for a CCA following my card being cancelled the EGG have now written to us offering us our charges back??? I called them today to say I would like this sent to me by a cheque but they have refused saying it has to go onto my account as I have a balance?

Can they do this? I now cannot use the card with the high interest and cannot have access to the money they say I am due? They have NOT supplied the CCA?

Please help

Found this on my travels, it has to be worth it just to throw some extra bad PR at Egg/Citi

Petition to: instruct that an enquiry be carried out by the office of fair trading into the cancellation of Credit Cards Accounts to 161,000 customers.
