hi i am at present trying to get my cash back from egg. they state that there charges are pre estimate, they are under the omperssion that this allows the to charge £20 for each charge. i am going to issue a writ against them in the next few days. so any information would be of great use regards michael

Don't know if it helps at all but in the past I had terrible trouble with the internet customer service team....their ability to comprehend & communicate being, how shall we say, somewhat questionable.

In the end I bypassed the internet team altogether and went to the 'normal' customer relations officers, cro.support@egg.com who were much more helpful.

They apologised and refunded my PPI premiums...Could be worth a try!

I'm now requesting refund of a '0% Anniversary Offer' balance transfer fee of £356, the thieving muts made no mention of any fees at any point....all the internet team did was refer me to the small print.

I have asked this too - It does seem that us Egg customers are not so good at posting stuff. Or maybe there are not many taking on Egg. But I read above that litigation is just about to begin! surely this can't be the first!

Hi there

"Anyone actually got money out of these [edit]

sending my Data Protection Act this week to this lot.
But your question got me thinking.
I called egg 29/11/05 to re-establish a DD onto a diff bank account.operator said it would start 1/1/06. Unfortunatley it came off 1/12/05 no money in account, hey presto £39 bank charge. Next month egg tried to get original payment + £40 of charges (2 x failed DD charge) - not Enough money this time.(another £39 bank charge, and another 10 days later, on retry)
I had called egg when i got a letter from a certain Mr R D Kettle (at the BoS/Halif##) to say they had applied DD 30 days too early. Sorry sorry they said, just send a letter with evidence of charges incurred and we will refund.
4 letters and a dozen phone calls later i was refunded.

It took till april 8th to get my money back. 5 months and they had admitted it was their mistake in December.
