Points Removal

Sorry if this has already been covered, but I had six penalty points on my license. As I was a taxi driver until recently, this obviously meant that my insurance was very expensive. I have bought a house since I was given the points, but didn't inform the DVLA because I was told I would have to pay a fee to have my points removed from my paper license.

I sent my license to the DVLA to inform them of my change of address after my points ran out and have just recieved a nice, new, clean license in my new address FREE of CHARGE.

They make enough money from us already.

Change of address is free. Any other updates are done at the same time. DVLA would be in breach of its own regulations if it issued the new licence with expired points.

OP, make absolutely sure that all your groups are on your new licence. M/cycle groups and 'grandfather' groups have a habit of disappearing.
