Advice please

Need some advice, i am curently the registered keeper of 2 vehicles (one is for my son-in-law who is not yet 17 but will be his when he has his birthday). I am shortly to move out of my house leaving my partner (ex) there, i have no desire to keep the 2 cars and she can have them. She will not sign the document to confirm i am giving them to her, can i just fill in my bits and send to the dvla, and they will change the details over to her without her sending in her parts? I don't want to still have them in my name as 1 is SORN at the moment and i think she will move it onto the hghweay so i get fined.......any advice gratefully received.

I actually dont think you can transfer a vehicle into someone elses name without them filling in the relevant docs and sending them off, if they are your cars then I am afraid that they are your responsibility.

When a vehicle changes hands both the current keeper and the new keeper have to sign the V5 registration document to confirm the change and then the current keeper is responsible for sending off the V5 to DVLA to advise them of the change of keeper. If your ex is not prepared to sign then I doubt that DVLA will accept the change of keeper.

If you really don't want the cars and she is not prepared to sign the paperwork to accept them, then I would advise just getting rid of them both. If you think that she may move the sorned one onto the road then keep the keys and make sure the doors are locked before you leave if you can't sell it prior to this.
