Default DVLA preventing me changing my address

if i change adress i am breaking the law by not notifying dvla to have my licence changed ? Well i tried.

Took a day off work to go que in dvla glasgow to do this. Decided my photo needed updated. Paid them the fee to check my photo and send it to swansea.

It comes back from swansea saying the photo has to be verified.

I call them and tell them it was, so why did they return it. She tells me to return it all back its been a mistake. Gives me her name.

I call back just to check they are keeping a record of these shenanigans. I get told the dept which i was to return it to was the wrong one. I get given the right one.

Send it off, with a letter to fully explain.

They send it back.

No reason that can be understood by a human is given on the letter.

I call them and am irrate. "What now ?"

"we sent it back for you to manually peel the photo from the application form."

HUH !! WTF !!..

And now they lost the reciept that i had the photo checked at DVLA glasgow, and the letter where i tried to exlain everything clearly. They binned it.

She gives me that same old "just send it all back, well do it right this time blatant lie"

I give up. Am i breaking the law here by refusing to enter into more of this nonsense.

I tried.

Is this what the movie "brazil" was about ? I think i would rather break the law and keep my sanity. Now i'm worried about even sending them my old licence in the post at all.

I mean if i cant do this simple procedure to alter licence details, and it seems like they are likely to lose my licence in the process, (i have sent it to them twice now) then cant i just plead the DVLA incapable ?

ahh they have set up a facility to change address online.

Apply online to change the address on your driving licence : Directgov - Motoring

. I just type in driving licence details and get a new licence sent to me.
