Default Question regarding SORN Veichles

My car is currently Sorn - done whilst I was serving a 3 month ban. Ban has now ended.

I need to get an MOT as it ran out whilst i was banned. I cannot get Tax without a valid MOT certificate, so am I allowed to drive (Or Tow?) the car to the garage for its MOT?

All answers thankfully received!

Up the Mariners!

I believe you can have your car towed to a garage if you have no mot, tax.

Btw, I hope you won't put your hazards on when being towed. Hazard lights are meant for stationary vehicles and you'd never see the AA, RAC doing it! Very annoying and dangerous.

You can drive it to an MOT appointment as well. Either way, the appointment has to be pre-booked and you must have insurance.

Also you should go straight to the testing station, not via Asda to get the monthly shopping.

You should Pre-Book an MOT. Make sure the Testing Garage book the registration and if possible get the date and time confirmed in writing or simply on the reverse of a Business card.

On the day of the test take a direct route to the Testing garage.

Take with you your insurance, Sorn confirmation and the Appointment confirmation. Have the Testing garages phone number with you.

If you pass an ANPR you will be stopped but having all the docs with you will not hold you up.
