Default Freeview: Missing Channels

For some reason Sky 3, Sky News,Sky Sports News and Dave have gone missing. Although they were still listed on the programme listings, when you clicked on them had a message saying these channels weren't tuned.

So did an automatic digital tuning which downloaded everything again, but still no joy and all these channels are now no longer listed even

Not that I, personally, could give a tinkers either way, but it would help peace break out in our household

Any ideas?

From memory, these all share the same Multiplex, so if one goes, they all do. There is a good chance it was borderline previously, and you really need to look at your installation to see if the aerial, cabling or a booster will resolve the problem.

It is possible that at the time you tuned them that there was a weak signal, bad atmospherics caused by weather etc and that prevented the mux showing up at that time.

Remembering that with these tuners they will only store what was picked up at the time of tuning in. This is one reason apart, from finding new channels, that it is good practice to rescan every so often.

As Buzby says, it could be the aerial cable / connections that are the problem.

Thanks Buzby and UK for the replies. Did another re-tune today and they're all back, so it seems it may have been bad signal/weather. Peace restored, cheers.
