Debt Collectors From Preston 01772 557600

I have had a phone call today from telephone number 01772 557600

A couple of searches on Google with 'preston debt collectors' displayed
these two companines

Corporate & Trade Ltd

and

General & Commercial Ltd,

These two companies were fined over non compliance to data protection, has anyone had any dealingw with debt collectors from Preston and does this phone number or these two companies look familiar to anyone.

Any information greatly appreciated.

Hi there, I also have had dealings with this / these companies, who I thought were really underhand.
The underlying debt concerned with me was Halifax credit card, which then was passed to Legal and Trade. The above telephone number was apparently for this company under the name I-call or Eye call.
They would phone every day (at least once) and say that it was a business call, well seeing as there is no business at my house I told them that I would not answer any questions, and they would not even say which company they were calling from
Phone call would be
Them: Can I speak with Red
Me: Who is it?
Them It is [name] from Preston about an urgent business matter
Me: Which company
Them : We are not going to tell you
Me: Well I am not going to continue with this conversation then
etc etc etc
Then following 1471 from BT got their number and phoned them back and said
Me: Which company is this?
they told me, and I said that i do not acknowldege any debt, and then they said that I would receive a home visit.
Me: WHOOOPPPPEEE
Nothing in writing, just threats
Next phone call, by me will be Trading Standards!!

What is it with Preston and idiot DCA's ?

As ODC says don't talk to them on the phone at all.
They wont listen to anything you have to say and will generally harress you.
It's worth spend a few quid and getting BT's "Choose to Refuse" service and block their numbers.
Admittedly I tried this and ended up maxing out as they used so many different numbers.
Oh well, I changed my number and it all went quiet.
I'm now working with Trading Standards regarding these lovely "people" and their tactics.
I was reviewing thier nasty grams today and found they have threatened bankcrupty twice now and I'm still waiting for them to call at my house.
All I need is a Saturday and Sunday and I'll have the full set

I would like to point out that this DCA is nothing to do with me! LOL

Hi DMD, like your post, and great that you are still on this site helping people too. Dealing with the DCAs when you know where you stand legally makes a massive difference, and yes, I admit, that I like toying with them a little now, after all the fear/tears that they have caused me in the past. Again though, without this site, and the continuing support and guidance I think that I would be a wreck! I love the CAG!!

Hi. I also had a call from this outfit last night regarding a next account for which I have cca'd and they have confirmed that no such agreement exists. I too refused to answer their security questions!! Its a great feeling being in control!

Especially when they have their preprinted nastyscript in front of them. Its much more polite that saying F Off and more frustrating for them

I think I have had a call from another one from a Leeds number this time

0113 308 6000

I have done a search and nothing comes up, does anyone recognize this number, if so which mob of cutthroats is it this time?

i have just called the number 0113 308 6000 and the convesation went like this:

Them:Please can I have an account number.
Me: Can I first of all ask who this?.
Them: We can't tell you that as you have called a central switch board.
Me: Well before I give you that information I would like to know who I am speaking to.
Them: Sorry we cant tell you that.
Me: Well in that case will you stop calling my mobile number and not leaving a message.
Them: We did not call you.
Me: Well in that case then the number 0113 308 6000 just appeared on my mobile as if by magic then did it?.
Them: As I said this is just a central switchboard and we do not know who has called you.
Me :In that case can you tell this mystery person that the next time they call they need to leave a message so that I can reposnd to them and if they do not leave a message if i recieve any further phone calls I will treat them as harrasment and deal with them accordingly.

THIS IS LOWELL FINANCIAL!!!!!!!!!!!! or one of their cronies but when i search under a phone number locator that i have it comes up as THUS Telecom LTD who i asume they are using as a front.
