| Re: Defaulted then satisfied…How can I remove from my credit file? You can in fact stop the CRA,s from processing your information automatically, in effect stopping anyone seeing what is there.
If I can find the info I will post it for you.
Also there is no right to keep these records for 6 years in law, it is purely an industry standard.

If you go to 'search' on the tool bar at the top of this thread and put in 'Credit Reference Agency' you will find more on the same subject.

| Re: Defaulted then satisfied…How can I remove from my credit file? You could take the same approach to defaults currently being paid off. The approach is relevant no matter how the default came about - if it has not been properly applied (they rarely are) then you can have it removed. |

I have started a new thread with the results and it can be viewed at the link below. http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...ease-help.html |

There is no law to state they can keep your info for 6 years, it is an agreed industry standard but if you push hard enough the agency will remove as there is nothing to back them up.
Don't let them fob you off by saying they only keep info sent to them by others, they are registered as Data Controllers so any info they keep on their files they have to answer for. |
