Default Can a BT or Insurance debt be CCA'd

Hope someone can help.

Am currently cleaning up my act to become totally Debt Free, but am not sure about a couple of debts I have.

I have an old BT debt being pursued by Moorcroft, an old ntl (telephone & broadband) debt being pursued by Westcot, and an old Tesco Insurance debt being pursued by Moorcroft, when I say 'old' these are still not more than 6 years old.

Can the DCAs be CCA'd for these types of debts, or is it just Loans / Credit Card types of debt that this can be done.

Also, can these types of debts be S.A.R - (Subject Access Request)'d for additional charges that were added on for defaults of payments?

Hope I'm not being too thck here, I've only recently come across this and MSE websites, and have just been blindly paying up before now, wish I'd knew a year ago, could have saved myself a lot of money

I don't think any of these come under CCA law.... so there's no point going down that road. CCA stands for Consumer Credit Agreement...

You can send a Subject Access Request to re-claim unlawful charges though... and then negotiate payment of the true balance owed, minus this amount.

I think things like telephone services are exempted from the Consumer Credit Act as are Gas & Electric but I am not sure.

Insurance wise, how did you enter into an agreement? If you pay monthly you normally have to sign and return a copy of the T&C's which detail the APR's, total amount repayable etc.
