hi there was looking for some advice regards the adove debt collection agency.
i got a letter in from them this morning regarding my £698 i owe vodafone(cancelled contract on there behalf)thats why its so much.
so i called them promptly to arrange a payment as vodafone had told me i could make a better deal with them then i could with vodafone.
when i caleed i was met with a very arrogamt guy demanding full payment or debt collectors would be brought in.
i offered £10 per week for the next 6 months with hope of paying the remander by then. but was told the minimum i could pay would be £87 per week and my offer was unacceptable.
i was wondering if i am offering a payback plan to them do the not have to accept it?
if i gave in to thier demands i would have it paid off quicker than i would have with vodafone.
any help please before i go phoning them back.

Can you do an income/expenditure sheet showing this is all you can afford and send it to them? if this is all you can pay, they cannot pressure you into paying any more.

ok thanks might try that.
they also told me that vodafone were demanding imediate payment yet vodafone told me last week that once the account goes to the debt collection agency it has nothing to do with then anymore.
who is correct?vodafone or the debt collection people?

A bit of both - vodafone do ahve responsibility for the DCA they retain - however, this doesn't mean they aren't setting targets for the DCA to achieve.

It's a bit of both - but trust me, they acnnot make you pay more than you can afford to.

I have dealt with these previously just stand your ground and you will be fine - do not discuss on phone insist on all communication in writing - they are full of empty threats.

Good luck
