DL&C + Welcome Finance Debt

Got a letter from Direct Legal & Collections regarding a debt from a car that i used to have... welcome took the car back on the sayso of my now exwife
from the driveway of the home we used to own.she phoned them and told them that i didnt live there anymore and to come and collect the car. they did ( i still had the keys and doc) next thing i am being charged for storage.. tried to get the car back .. no joy so i stopped paying for it. this was about 5 years ago. the car was sold and that was it . or so i thought..
they now want the shortfall. £3k i called the DCA and asked for a copy of all that they had on me. this was december. nothing came..a few weeks back some paperwork was sent to me and i noticed that my surname was incorrectly spelt . i have now sent of my £1.00 to them for a copy of my CCA , and most of all how important is the spelling of my surname on documents... i have a populer irish name O'Brien .. allways getting spelt
O'Brian... is this comman.. are the documents still vaild??
or is it up to me to notice things like spelling when filling out forms.?

well iwould of thought oyu would have signed something
if they can prove its your sig, or you can prove its not, you might get away with it.

however, you say 5yrs ish...if its 6 then they cant do a thing.

Was the account in arrears when it was repo'ed?
Was it a joint account?

Cause it it was neither then i can't see how they can legally do this...

You should also check how far into the agreement you was when it was repo'ed,cause after a certain amount of time you can return a car with no shortfall to pay....

no the car was just in my name.. and yes i was behind a bit BUT always paid something weekly ..

I can't see how they can jusify taking the car,did they issues warning cause you was in arrears?
