Default Wrongly targeted?? Victim of harassment??

Hi everybody,

Just to bring to your attention:-

We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Introduce legislation to give better protection from harrassment by Debt Collection Agencies.

It may not make the slightest bit of difference at the end of the day, but it needs a minimum of something like 100 signatures to get consideration and a response from HMG.

Signing up is easy and your details are secure, so don't worry on that score. If HMG issues a response, you should get it sent to you in your email, but this petition will be open for 12 months.

I know, it's probably a waste of time, but if you feel strongly enough spread the word and join in. At least let them know there is a problem out here in the real world.

Thanks

Good Idea, however. Iv'e lobbied the government a few times your best bet is to lobby your mp directly. The prime minister will not be able to help you when if goes to jail for the cash for honours thing [allegedly].

Yes....I was trying to be smart.

Our glorious leader, Mr TB, has since said there will be no major policy changes as a result of these petitions on his watch, so the sooner he goes the better. It has knocked the wind out of my sails a bit, but I thought by letting it run for while, he will be long gone.

100 sigs is the absolute minimum before they even look at them, and I didn't know what kind of response it would get from people. I thought the longer it ran, the more chance of hitting the target.

I have to concede it's unlikely to make any lasting difference, but I want to see what the response from HMG will be.

Thanks to everyone for joining in.

Don't concede anything!

I've just rated this thread, and I don't think there will be any problem getting the minimum of 100! Who knows where this thread will be this time next year? 10,000 ? 20,000 ?

If PPL keep rating this thread and it just picks up the "odd vote or two" every day, it could become a serious debate!

Those whom don't ask, don't get!

Let's keep it going guys!
