Default Help needed!!

This is my first post and i am hoping that someone (anyone) will be able to help us. I have no idea how i have found this website but am so glad that i have, here goes....

7 years ago husband registered with Consumer Credit Counselling Service - paid off all debts over 4 years - payments were made to Unidebt for an account with Nat West.

Last May, totally out of the blue, a company called Moorcroft started chasing my husband for the above debt. After months of unanswered letters from them, photocopies of payments made to CCCS sent to them, they are now threatening us with ballifs.

Moorcroft have been instructed by the Nat West to collect the debt.

Husband has contacted Nat West and his account does not exist anymore and they cannot update any records (plus they don't even have his correct date of birth). Unidebt will not divulge any information because of the date of birth mix up......where do we go from here?

We have paid the debt via the CCCS (and have a computer print out with the exact amounts and dates of payments).

Any information would be wonderful and grateful received

Did you pay this debt off in full - or was it a reduced settlement.
You have the paperwork that proves you ahev paid.
As fpr threatening you with a baliff, this cannot happen unless the debt has been taken to court.

I would send in a copy of your confirmation of payment to NatWest AND Moorcroft to ensure they correct their systems.

Moorcroft will just pass it back to the creditor once proof has been received anyway. I would send copies and ask for confirmation of receipt then you should receive their ' We are no longer dealing with this' letter.

If you have proof its been paid they dont have a leg to stand on!
