| Re: Allied International Credit Before it gets to that stage they have to get a court judgement against you. Your next step should be to send them a CCA request, unsigned and with a £1 postal order enclosed 'only for the payment of this CCA request and not to be used for any other reason'. |

| Re: Allied International Credit I DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE ANY DEBT Dear Sir/Madam
Re:− Account/Reference Number
With reference to the above agreement, we would be grateful if you would send us a copy of this credit agreement.
We understand that under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (Sections 77−79), we are entitled to receive a copy of our credit agreement on request. We enclose a payment of £1.00 which represents the fee payable under the Consumer Credit Act.
We understand a copy of our credit agreement should be supplied within 12 working days.
We understand that under the Consumer Credit Act creditors are unable to enforce an agreement if they fail to comply with a request for a copy of the agreement under these sections of the Act.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully

| Re: Allied International Credit If you haven't paid them anything or put an acknowledgement in writing, then you haven't acknowledged the debt, so still put that at the top of the letter. |

| Re: Allied International Credit As long as you start every letter with "I do not acknowledge this this debt" in big, bold letters then you will be fine.
You may get further letters from this company. If they haven't supplied the CCA then you will write them a further letter stating that until they supply the CCA there is no debt as far as you are concerned.
Don't worry. If and when anything happens, just post here and we will all help! |

Firstly i apologise for not starting my own thread (as this is my first post after just joining!), but what i want to know and say is very relevant to this discussion. Very similarly A.I.C. are hassling me and more to poiint my elderley parents for monies and threatening them with a "visit". I shan't go into huge detail but basically it was a car loan with lloyds (black horse finance) that started in 2003, i genuinely thought i'd paid it off after not hearing from them for a year or so after paying a (final, or so i thought) lump sum of 6K. turns out there is about a thousand pounds left. I was living with my parents for only a short while (after splitting from ex wife) so this is where they have that last known address from. My personal circumstances are quite bad, living with friends ect.. i have read all the threads regarding this company and the lovely people here, as they have done on this thread, advise you to send a CCA request, which i have. Trouble is they sent me straight back a photocopy of the original loan aggreement. So my question is this (getting to the relevant bit now, sorry?).... was just this 1 sheet of paper all they needed to send?.. what on earth do i do now?.. what is the importance of a debt being over 6 years old (next year in my case) ... These people are making my parents life a misery and they're going spare with the thought of burly men turning up and taking their belongings.. which i have told them that they can't do, but still.
Any help or answers would be so very helpfull, and keep up the good work. I am so very impressed by all this help... |

| After six years with no payment or acknowledgement in writing by you it becomes statute barred - not six years after the loan was taken out. The chances are that yours is nowhere near statute barred.
There's a template letter to stop further harassment of your parents that you should send recorded delivery, unsigned.
Post up a copy of your CCA (suitably masking out personal information and other identifying markings. Someone will be able to advise on its legitimacy.
Best to start your own thread for this. |

| Re: Allied International Credit I had read on here all the various horror stories about AIC, and thought to myself I hope none of my debts is ever passed to them.
Then earlier this year, the postcard from AIC arrived, followed by their threatening letter.
They wanted the entire £3k and not a penny less
I CCA'd them, however after a few weeks they actually produced a valid CCA - which was a first for me (I was actually quite excited about
that )
However, I decided that I didn't want to deal with AIC, so I wrote a letter to the original creditor (Lloyds), copying in their chairman, and complained about all the underhand AIC tactics (that I'd read about on here) and a couple of weeks later I received a letter of apology from Lloyds.
Lloyds took the account back from AIC and I'm paying them a token £1 per week, until I can get rid of them.
To think I used to be scared of all these DCAs' until I found websites like this, and the many good people who use them, gave me new confidence by informing me of my rights. |
