Default ICUK Hosting urgent cry for assistance....

Hi Folks

I have a few concerns with a company chaseing me for a business debt.

As stated in the thread title the name of this company is ICUK Hosting.

I have reported them to Trading Standards but I have another issue with them.

I enterd into a sole traders contract with them. They have done checks on my Limited comapny name and have sent demands to my registerd company address and my neigbours address.

I did not sign anything however consumer direct instruct me that an online aplication is an accepted lawful contract form. ?? is this right??

I am told from this site(The Unfair Contract Terms Act | Business Link) that I am entitled to consumer protection

I took there hosting reseller account and orderd a phone line from them. The phone line order was canceled before the line was installed. and before the engineer was due to carry out work.

I can not pay the money they are asking though this isnot the reason i canceled the contract. I canceled because i was offerd a better deal.

They accepeted the cancelation by the way and are still invoiceing me. My main concern is my realtionship with my enighbours and my landlord.

Can someone help? pleeeeeease

Yea although instead of a signature, a compelted tick box is required.

How did you cancel? ca;;ed them up etc?

I have just went on to their website. Was it for phone resller?

I went through a few things and using the reseller there is no where it states their terms and conditions when signing up. I got as far as the conform payment details. These should be easily accessible at this stage and they are not.

Did you get any t&c's?

You found them easier then me!

(c) Cooling Off Period - If you are a consumer (that is to say, you are not purchasing the Service(s) wholly or in part for your business or you are not a business or using a business service provided by us), you have the right, in addition to your other rights, to cancel the contract and receive a refund, subject to any third party costs incurred during the provisioning of your order. You must inform us in writing (email acceptable) via the cancellation procedure within the
"Contact Us" section of the website within seven working days of entering into the contract if you wish to exercise this right." The cooling off period shall not apply in the event the service is activated within 7 working days of customer order and full termination charges shall be levied.

Did you do the above within the time limits?

Hi Josh - ICUK are a member of OTELO, it may be worth speaking to them to see if they can help?

Office of the Telecommunications Ombudsman - Home

Sending copies of your invoices to your neighbour - is that not against the Data Protection Act? They are sharing your financial info with strangers, and obviously trying to embarrass you by implying you are not paying your bills etc - OFT also then!
