Tesco/First Revenue Assurance

I have a debt with Tesco home phone which turned up yesterday morning in the post. The letter says the debt has been passed to First Revenue Assurance. Can a CCA request be sent for this debt or not? I thought this had been paid and i have no way of knowing how I am going to pay it on disabillity and long term sick. Has anyone had any dealing with this DCA as I have not heard of them before?

Livepool based DCA, but never had dealings with them, not too sure about phones requring a credit agreement,

if you can contact Tesco and try to arrange a payment plan thereby cutting this DCA out of the loop, I am sure that if you explain to tesco about your disability etc they may well listen, and be far more sympathetic than a DCA

Yes, i too would make contact with Tescos, but only in writing. In the first write to state you were unaware there was an outstanding debt, so could they please forward a statement of account to clarify the amount requested. I would then write to the DCA simply saying the account is in dispute and that you are in talks with Tescos. Don't go into any details with them.

Let us know what responses you receive and people can then offer further support

It really is best to write so that you have proof of any agreement reached. You also have evidence if you need to make a formal complaint further down the line
