| | Platinum Account Customer | Re: Rocky road for Debt Collecters "When collecting debt over the coming months companies should be aware that the behaviour of customers could be quite different to what they may have seen previously," said Neil Munroe, external affairs director for Equifax.
In other words, faced with a choice of paying the mortgage to keep a roof over your head, the Council Tax to avoid jail etc, or paying the rude aggressive barstewards constantly on the 'phone and writing threatening letters promising court 7 days ago - more people are suddenly going to be aware of what their priorities really are. I suppose that will make huge sections of the population dodgers in the eyes of DCA employees and sympathisers.
It's only a matter of time before they start ditching staff, and maybe even bite the dust altogether as OC's will find it more profitable and easier to recover debts themselves.
Hooray for recession!!!! (which this isn't 'cos Gordon says so). Clear out the bad practices, and throw out the rotten apples. Who's going to be first ?????? |

Global Vantedge are a crew used by MBNA and are based in india - they just don't care - I even got calls on christamas day from them, and his answer was 'if you pay, all this can stop'
Also, if they ring from abroad, there's bugger all you or BT can do to block the call short of you changing your number.
No, I just want the parasitic bottomfeeders to be outlawed... parlimentary motion anybody? |

| | Platinum Account Customer | Re: Rocky road for Debt Collecters Hi people,
I came across this thread while browseing the list and thought I`d add my little post.
I`ve always thought myself that the world doesn`t really need DCA`s at all. I mean, what do they do that a Bank or OC can`t do themselves? They only pass the account in question to a Solicitors anyway, they don`t actually do anything themselves.
If Banks and OC`s weren`t as greedy with extortionate interest and money grabbing charges, then people might be more willing to play ball with them.
What happens if, for whatever reason you miss a payment? Do they just say it`s ok, we`ll just add it on the end of your Loan or on top of your Card, just pay us when you can? No, they lash you with stupid charges, for the sole purpose to making you fall behind even more, so they lash more charges on. In the end, you get sick and stop paying. Then, they pass the account to some witless wonder at a DCA, who immediately goes on the full scale offensive. What does this do? It makes you laugh and go on the defensive and in the end the OC get`s even less back.
What I`m trying to say is, SACK THE LOT OF THEM, they`re empty headed moron`s doing a pointless job. Let them toss burgers or each other off at Macky D`s or Burger King for £1.75 an hour, with a free silly cap.
Anyway, I`ve had my waffle and dribble for tonight (I think), catch you all later.
Regards

N.P | Never a truer word spoken NP. How did all this start? It is simply down to the greed of the banks.
I remember getting letters years ago from a bank where they were charging me (even then) £15 fines because I wasn't keeping my account in order. The simple question is this: If you are on a tight budget, how can bank charges help you to keep your accounts in order? They don't, they make it more difficult and this leads to impossible.
They're greedy and because of this they've been bitten well and truly on their collective arse. They deserve every bad thing that happens to them. Thankfully, because of people who set up sites like this that will be a lot of bad things.
Power to the people!
Fred
