Default Red Debt Collection vs Me

I had a Capital 1 card debt which was bought by these clowns, they have in the last week informed that since this debt is state barred, they won't be contacting me any more and are considering the matter closed.
What do I need to do now?
They repeatedly threatened County Court action, yet nothing has ever materialised.
They have oisted a Default with Experian. Can I get them to remove this, since they've as good as admitted they've no right to enforce or claim payment on this debt?

I would ask them to remove this but I was under the impression that it stays on your credit file for 6 years....

There is nothing in law or statute which states that CRA's have a right to retain your data for 6 years when either the agreement is terminated or no longer exists.

In fact it's not even required if your contract lasts only 1 year after which you could demand it be removed

It's just a cosy little rule dreamt up by them to satisfy their clients which they will claim is their right in law.......but when challenged to produce evidence of this right/law they usually back down & remove the data

Therefore I would also demand the CRA remove it forthwith
