Unhappy DCA payment book changing company names

When the company sent me a new payment book the name had changed. I used to get letters from Intrum Justicia and Blair Oliver and Scott and the book said part of the Intrum group so ok. Now the books say Logic and letters recently EOS.

I have had no letters stating change of dca or indeed any confirmation of a debt from original company and this has been going on for ten years
When I rang they said just carry on paying

I have never had any reply to request for a deed of assignment or reply to cca requested beginning of last year and wonder should I start procedure over again as I cant get any where. Incidently both cheques went uncashed and arrived back at my address in plain envelope with no letter and I assumed they no longer charged. Stupid me
As they stopped the persistant phone calls I was just glad of break.

Has anyone had their cheques returned from these companies and were they ignored also.

Are these companies one and the same and would that explain it.

Any feedback appreciated.

You would be wise to send them another CCA request with the stat payment of £1 which is not to be used against the alleged debt.

Send it recorded delivery this time and read up on this in the meantime, if they go into default you can withold any payments that were due.

Thanks Bigmac. I did send it recorded last time, just misplaced the slip. I think I was caught unaware as to why they had returned the cheques, I had wrote on the back of them what it was for, and when I rang they said they received the request and were aware of it. I normally tape conversations so am hoping I have kept copy. My filing system needs overhall.

I'll do it again. Thanks.

Ok well if they have acknowledged it then they are not only in default where you can withold any payments until they comply they have also committed a criminal offence.

I just was nervous of stopping payment and thought a verbal confimation was not enough. I must admit the man who spoke to me was understanding and told me I would get a reply, what I got was a print out of payments received and a call to stop contacting the original company. They told me I should only pay them and accept that was that. I admit I ran out of energy.

Well listen here then...........As a consumer you have rights to protect you from such behaviour and you need to start using them, DONT trust a word from any DCA they will tell you anything to get payment.
A printout of payments received does NOT comply with your request and you could withold payments immediately until they comply with your request in full, after such a long time has passed i would be gobsmacked if they could comply.

Dont run out of energy this time and remember and doubts you have ask away in here and we will help you.
